Simon Kassel is currently in his second year of the Masters in City Planning program at University of Pennsylvania's School of Design. His work at Penn has been focused on using data to address issues related to real estate, crime and environmental protection. He hopes to make cities smarter and more efficient by innovating with data and emerging technologies.
Originally from Burlington, Vermont, Simon graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota where he studied political science. Before coming to Penn, he worked in the film and television industry in New York and as a commercial real estate photographer and videographer in Boston. He lives in Center City Philadelphia with his girlfriend and their dog, Goose.
